About Us

Ileana lives in London and comes from an old but not very ambitious shipping family from the Greek island of Ithaca. The difficulties of finding a good rental agent for her own unique family property with a yacht to go with it, led her to found Five Star Greece back in 2000, which created the niche market of fabulously located, luxurious, fully-staffed villas for international guests who are used to the best. She has a wealth of international contacts and a deep knowledge of the rental market. As a founder member of The Bespoke Travel Club and of UltraVilla, both of which are by invitation only associations of top travel specialists, she has vast experience and Five Star Greece enjoys a long-standing excellent reputation among travel professionals, owners, press and guests alike.

Danae is one of the crack sales team with a special interest in large family villas. She is one of our most skilled negotiators as her honesty and integrity is matched by a determination to see the right outcome. She lives in London, and as Ileana’s daughter, is with youthful enthusiasm carrying on and improving the family tradition.
A true insomniac, we usually ask her to help our US and Australian friends so there is minimal delay due to time differences. She loves the cool and the authentic, is a passionate traveller, dog-lover, wake-boarder and e-foiler, and has a background in graphic design and photography. She will also cast a guest's horoscope and sense from their aura which house and island they will like. Just don't ask her to do complicated maths...

Dimitris commutes between Brussels and Greece. His background is the world of European diplomacy which often comes in extremely useful, and he has been Head of Sales for over ten years. As a native of the island of Paros where he is a well known figure of great respect, Dimitris’ area of special expertise is the Cyclades. He is hugely connected there as his clients find out when they want something arranged, has a large following of loyal repeat clients and a wide network of travel agents and trip designers with whom he enjoys long term collaborations. He represents us with flair at international trade fairs and his sense of fun and of the ridiculous lifts the whole company. Known as the fastest responder in the company, he is a machine that has no "off button."

Our “office rock,” Totally unflappable - rare in a country of flappers, and Greece’s greatest Mr. Fixit, Alex not only keeps things flowing and organised, but is also our yachting expert with a great eye for quality yachts and an ability to arrange shore excursions. With a background in engineering, his delight in attention to detail and talent for organised and analytic thinking makes him the man for enquiries about events, celebrations and unusual requests. He enjoys large projects in which he can get totally involved in all aspects. He is married to our favorite interior designer whose services are often used by our villa owners, has a bossy 9 year old daughter, a younger daughter who is likely to become even bossier, a dog who comes to the office, and unfairly long eyelashes.

Titos is the third member of the sales team. With a background in engineering and the shipping industry in his previous life, he has a special interest in architecture and design and is the Sherlock Holmes of the villa world, with one of the finest noses for new houses that there is. His gentle calm and his strong sense of fairness make him someone that owners relate to and we owe some spectacular off-market villas to these qualities. He has a particularly deep knowledge of the Athens Riviera and Argo-Saronic , as well as a great overview of the whole of our portfolio. He has a roster of loyal guests who value his patience and judgement, and is also the chief foodie in a team where the bar is set extremely high and work trips are designed to an extent around mealtimes, so any gastronomes would do well to ask him for tips.

Maria sets an example to all of us with her hugely service-oriented finesse, her incredible attention to detail and the high standards she sets for herself and for our associates with whom she works. She heads her highly trained team who take care of everything from stocking villas before arrival, renting cars, equipping gyms, developing local networks, hiring security, child-minders and chefs, finding musicians for parties, arranging dialysis machines, rescuing stranded travellers, looking for lost pets, arranging private tours and experiences, and keeping our concierges busy and organized. From VVIP and A list celebrity requirements to everyday ferry tickets, Maria’s team take care of it all.
A proud Cretan, she also advises our sales team on Crete and has never said no to a well-earned shot of raki at the end of the day. We call her Superwoman and are frequently left speechless in admiration of the things that she does, all recounted airily as if it were all in a day's work - which it is to her.

Irene is a Greek South African with a background in accounts management, appointed by popular vote as Head of Administration. She brings a quiet sense of order as well as a passion for multicoloured spreadsheets to an otherwise slightly chaotic office. We are teaching her to lean forward with a cold stare and say, "Please don't interrupt, I am speaking" - Uphill work in Greece as any girl knows....She avoids the limelight and is happiest with an excel file in front of her, a quiet room and a Springboks victory. Our owners all adore her and we worship her.
